Nearly prepared to get out the spray mount, though the weather may make this impossible today b/c of 1] the glue’s fumes and 2] no extraction fans inside.
Below is some detail of four quadrants of the photomontage/collage. Again my studies have been printed on semi-gloss Epson photo paper, while the El Greco’s masterpiece has been simply colour photocopied. The mounting board — in keeping with the ‘recycle, reuse…’ brief — is a purloined plastic sheet (about 3mm thick) from the college’s dismantled radio studio. The final work will be approximately 65cm x 75cm.
At least two people who have seen samples of my studies online have mention James Ensor (1860-1949), and I have been aware of his art work in my adult life. Particularly his Christ’s Entry Into Brussels in 1889 (1888), oil on canvas, 256.8 x 378.4 cm., the Getty Museum.
