Disrobing

Images below illustrate the process. 1) Photocopy of original masterpiece, blocked out (grid lines) to assist in my studies. 2) Oil and acrylic studies/copies. 3) Both original painting and my studies/copies reproduced by copier, cut out and rearranged as template for final work.

Which results in this. (Some cropping of the mount will complete the work. I don’t think any additional embellishment is necessary.)

Further development could include making a new print of the final work on some strange and wonderful medium: Leatherette, for eg. Clearly, this photomontage could be constructed/arranged differently. I have other plans for similar works using other studies in paint collaged with reproductions of the originals.
