Both of these studies were mapped out using a crude grid on a photocopy of a reproduction (see below). In theory they should have been set side by side and matched. I deviated, obvs, from the grid on occasion. No worries. Both are oils. Left, painted on paper with acrylic ground. Right, corrugated box card, with acrylic and caulk ground.
