For each person, make a note of areas of the websites listed below that you would recommend to them, and any resources or events that would help their understanding.

I would first of all direct all of the staff outlined to the excellent online seminar I attended in April 2020 hosted by Poquet et al. (2020). This seminar provides some useful background information on analytics in social networks, VLEs and relates these areas to learning design. It is also mentioned on the SOLAR (2020a) podcast and webinars page.

For our Professional Development Manager (PDM)

With a responsibility to source and co-ordinate the delivery of training materials, a subscription to the Journal of Learning Analytics, SOLAR (2020b) may be a valuable resource for the PDM. It would perhaps be too onerous on lecturing staff to keep up with developments via this journal.

For out VP Curriculum / Student Experience (VP)

As the individual responsible for strategic decision proposals the LACE evidence hub (2020b) would be of interest to our VP. The learning outcomes, KPI and ethics subject areas may assist in such decision making. There is a newsletter subscription available to keep up with the latest developments.

Programmers

The SOLAR and LACE sites are more strategic decision making and staff training resources.programmer looking at code

For our programmers, myself included, the Educational Data Mining (EDM) (2020) resources page provides example data which may provide useful in developing our own analytics models. There are commercial providers of data science in FE but it would be valuable for some of our programmers to have experience of EDM.
