Freshers Fayre

We had a fantastic start to the year with our Freshers Fayre at the Dumfries campus running August 22nd – 26th.

We welcomed a number of organisations in to speak to students, and the Student Association took suggestions from our students to find out what activities you would like to see us over the year.

Thank you to everyone who came along and interacted with us or any of our stall holders.

If you still have any ideas of things you would like to see happening this year, pop us a message on our social media, or email us on studentassociation@dumgal.ac.uk

Statement re. Military Action

The recent military actions and conflict in Ukraine have been creating headlines worldwide. Dumfries & Galloway College Student Association recognises the devastating impact that this may have on students and staff who are from that region, have family/friends there, or who may have experienced conflict in other areas of the world.  Beyond those who are directly affected, we understand that the current news-cycle and ongoing uncertainty can cause distress or increased anxiety.

During this period, we wanted to take the opportunity to remind students of the support that is available.

  • If you would like to talk or get emotional support, please visit our self-referral function on our Student Portal.
  • The Wellbeing Pod is also available to give some basic guidance on mental health concerns and to offer signposting of external organisations who may be able to provide additional support
  • Togetherall is a free 24/7 online support service where you can go if you’re feeling down or struggling to cope. Whether you want to speak to peers or to a counsellor, there will be someone there every minute of every day.
